From the hotel Le Phébus in Joucas, you’ll ride to the Coquillade hotel in Gargas: both perfect accommodations to explore the villages and landscapes of the Luberon mountains.
You’ll explore : endless lavender fields, the ocher cliffs of Roussillon, and medieval hilltop villages like Ménerbes and Bonnieux. And Provençal cooking at its finest. Rich in history, the Luberon will take you back centuries in time, from Roman bridges, feudal castles, centuries-old buildings, and medieval cobbled streets that wind through tiny villages

Day 1: Between the Monts du Vaucluse and the Luberon
Distance: 25 to 35km
Climbing: from +550m to +700m
From the small village of Joucas, head towards the perched medieval village of Gordes, recently named the world’s most beautiful village. Explore the network of cobbled streets by foot. Climb over a pass and descend to the 12th century Sénanque Abbey, surrounded by its iconic lavender fields. Return to Joucas via the wild slopes of the Monts du Vaucluse Mountains.
Day 2: From Joucas to Gargas via the perched villages of the Luberon
Distance: from 40 to 55 km
Climbing: from +700m to +1000m
Today’s ride takes you to some of the region’s most spectacular hilltop villages, dotting a countryside carpeted with cherry orchards, vines, and lavender fields. Visit the village of Ménerbes, set atop a knife-edge ridge, its perfect medieval buildings set dizzyingly above the vineyards. Explore the village of Lacoste, crowned by the castle ruins of the infamous Marquis de Sade. And discover the haunting village of Oppède-le-Vieux, its stone buildings in different states of disrepair, where it feels as if time stopped centuries ago. Reach the Hotel Coquillade & Spa, and settle in for a 2-night stay.
Day 3: The ocher cliffs of the Luberon
Distance: from 40 to 55km
Climbing: from +600m to +900m
The ride takes you into the heart of the Luberon mountains, and to its most remote villages. You’ll admire the towering cliffs of Buoux, or the castle ruins set atop the tiny village of Saignon, from where you have far-reaching views across the Luberon valley.
